The Attendants Duties

Maid or Matron Of Honor

Assist the bride with appointments (invitations, fittings, hair, etc.)

Confirm delivery date of maids' dresses

Plan a shower and/or bachelorette party

Assist the bride on her wedding day

Carry the groom's ring to the ceremony

Hold the bride's bouquet during the service

Adjust bride's veil and train

Bridesmaids

Offer to run errands for the bride

Help with the shower preparations

Assist the bride on her wedding day

Best Man

Plan the bachelor party

Choose a gift for the groom

Confirm honeymoon reservations a few days before the wedding and make sure the groom has the tickets

provide transportation to the ceremony for the groom

Assist the groom on the wedding day

Carry the bride's ring to the ceremony

Put the bride and grooms luggage in the car

Have the fee ready for the clergy

Have the car ready to take the newlyweds to from the church

Offer the first toast at the reception

Plan the newlyweds escape route from the reception.

check the seating arrangements

Escort the female guests by offering your right arm

People with reserved seating will give you a card or tell you so.  Ask all others whether they are guests of the bride or groom.

Seat bride's guests to the left and groom's guests to the right.

Seat the mothers of the bride and groom just before the ceremony starts.  There is usually a certain song chosen for the seating of the  mothers and quite often the groom will seat both mothers.
